NOTE: On Jan 8th the Governor released his health coverage proposal. His plan includes the following:

Coverage for uninsured children (approximately 750,000):

• All uninsured children below 300% of the federal poverty level (FPL), regardless of residency status, will be eligible for state-subsidized coverage.  220,000 uninsured children below 100% of the FPL will enroll in Medi-Cal, while 250,000 uninsured children between 101-300% of the FPL will enroll in the Healthy Families Program.

• 210,000 uninsured children will enroll in employer-sponsored coverage and an additional 50,000 uninsured children above 300% of the FPL would be covered by private insurance by their parents or responsible adult.  Parents of these children will be responsible for purchasing at least the minimum level of coverage for their children.

Please consider these points as you take our survey.

90% of California kids have health insurance; only 10% are uninsured. About 763,000 kids go without health coverage every day. Let's finish the job in 2007!
